Norwich Technical High School Car Show - 5/5/23
We had nice weather and a good time this evening at the Norwich Tech Car Show, at least until it rained. Nevertheless, cars were wiped down and the show went on. Still, it was great to get out and see everyone. Let’s hope that better weather is coming soon!
Cruise Night at Village Pizza - 5/9/23
We had choices tonight but first up is the Cruise Night at Village Pizza. Nice weather brought a lot of cars and trucks to the first cruise here this year. As the sun went down, it got a bit chilly but good food and good friends helped to keep us warm. A big thanks to our friends at Dream Machine Classics for another great night
Bozrah Moose Lodge Cruise Night - 5/10/23
It was clear, cool and comfortable for the first Bozrah Moose Lodge Cruise Night of the season and a lot of folks came out to enjoy the nice weather. As always, the burgers, hot dogs, and chili were great while Paul kept the music going all evening. A perfect evening to relax and enjoy some cruise night camaraderie!
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 5/15/23
Nice weather resulted in a great turnout for the first 98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night of the season. It was great to see everyone here after the winter and a lot of different cars tonight made it even better. Remember, this cruise runs every Monday night until September 11th except for July 3rd and it’s always free for everyone after 5 PM
Grasso Tech Car Show - 5/19/23
We had a really good time at the 2nd Annual Grasso Tech Car Show today. The weather was fine, just a bit chilly, and there was a solid turnout of cars and trucks. A big thanks to Steve and all the volunteers who made this happen. And the hot dogs and burgers were good too! Great show everyone, hats off to the Class of 2024!
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 5/22/23
We had fair weather again for the second 98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night of the season. A lot of folks came out early but as the sun went down it cooled off quickly resulting in a few early exits. But we still had a great time on the last cruise night before the beach officially opens next weekend.
Holy New Martyrs Classic Car & Truck Show - 5/27/23
It was picture-perfect weather for the Holy New Martyrs Classic Car & Truck Show today and a lot of people came out to enjoy the idyllic grounds and the plentiful sunshine. It’s been three years since the last show here and it was like they never missed a beat. These folks really do it up right for this show. Be sure to check out the last photos in the album showing the car-themed tables, the great menu, and the delicious baked goods. We especially liked the unique centerpieces on each table. A big thanks to all the volunteers from the church who helped to put this show on today. Your efforts were appreciated by all!
Southeastern Connecticut Mustang Club Cruise Night - 5/27/23
We had a good turnout at our first SCMC cruise night of 2023. Tonight was our rain date after last Saturday’s washout and the weather couldn’t have been better. We struggled a little without Bob as our DJ and it was a bit confusing with our new raffle tickets but with everyone’s help and patience, we made it through OK . We want to thank everyone who joined us tonight, especially the winner of the 50/50 who donated his winnings back to our charity, the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Overall, we think it was a good night and we hope to see everyone here again next month!

Sprague Rod & Gun Club Cruise and Barbecue - 6/4/23
Is it really June? It felt more like March at the Sprague Rod & Gun Club Cruise today. And with the chance for a shower we were surprised how many folks came out to participate. As always the food was great, there were lots of cool raffle prizes and we had a really relaxing afternoon. Can’t ask for much more than that these days!
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 6/5/23
With the unpredictable and cool weather, today was not a beach day! But quite a few folks came out anyway for tonight’s 98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night. At least the showers held off and everyone had a nice time despite the weather.
Thrive 55+ Second Annual Car Cruise - 6/10/23
We had a great time today at the second annual Thrive 55+ Car Cruise. This year the cruise was combined with the Groton Outdoor Market and Groton Library book sale so there was plenty to see and do. And the weather was picture perfect until it wasn’t – a 15 minute downpour about 3 PM changed everything. But Appreciation Awards were given out as folks were leaving and despite the rain we think everyone enjoyed the day. Funny, less than a mile away everything was dry. New England, right?!
Cruise Night at Village Pizza - 6/13/23
With the crazy weather lately, tonight was the first time in days that we made it through a cruise night with no rain. And tonight was perfect - we had music by Gary Pom, great pizza slices, cold beer, and a field of beautiful cars and trucks including a few we had never seen before. A big thanks to our friends at Dream Machine Classics for another great night at Village Pizza!
Central Baptist Church Father's Day Car Show - 6/18/23
It’s been a miserable month with pop-up showers almost every day. And after being rained out yesterday we weren’t sure what today would bring. But the skies cleared out for the annual Father’s Day Car Show at the Central Baptist Church in Westerly. Lots of beautiful cars and trucks (over 100 by our count) filled the lot and many folks came out to see them. We all enjoyed the music, burgers, hot dogs, and cold drinks. Best of all, any showers stayed away! It’s always a special Father’s Day at this show and this year was no exception. A big thanks to Reverend Cal Lord and all the folks from the church who helped put this on!
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 6/19/23
After last week’s washout, tonight was totally different – a crystal clear sky and a nice breeze off the water brought out a huge number of cars, trucks and motorcycles. And it brought out a lot of folks to enjoy them as well. It was nice to see the beach filled with people as it should be and we hope for a lot more nights like this!
Southeastern Connecticut Mustang Club Cruise Night - 6/24/23
It was cloudy and quite humid but thankfully no rain fell on our ‘rain-date’ cruise night tonight. The owners of about 30 cars and trucks came out to join us and we all had a good time despite the gloomy weather. Best of all, the winner of our 50/50 donated the bulk of her winnings back to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. We want to thank the folks from Dream Machine Classics and all the rest who braved the threat of rain and supported us tonight.
Packages for Troops Benefit Cruise - 6/25/23
We had a great time at the Packages for Troops Benefit Cruise at the Village Shoppes (Ted’s IGA) in Hebron today. The sun was shining throughout but we had the corner spot in the shade with a cooling breeze. Not as many folks as usual today but there were still plenty of beautiful cars and trucks to admire along with great music by Gary Pom and Tribute. It was just nice to get out and not have the threat of rain hanging over us for a change!
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 6/26/23
Although sunny, hot and humid at home, it was foggy and cool at the beach tonight. A few die-hards joined us as we listened to the fog horns blowing in the distance. Despite the weather, a lot of families came out to enjoy the free admission, the concessions, the cool breezes and our rides so it really wasn’t a bad night at all. And if the photos look foggy it’s because it was!

St. Catherine Church Cruise Night - 7/5/23
In three words – it was hot! But even so, about 30 cars and trucks came out to the St. Catherine Church Cruise Night tonight. Everyone parked around the shade trees which provided some relief but with almost no breeze it was still tough to keep cool. We had live music, good food and drink, and no rain. It was good to see everyone enjoying the idyllic venue and we’d like to give a big shout-out to all the volunteers from the church who did a great job putting this on!
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 7/10/23
With New London flooded with rain this morning and thunderstorms still to the north of us, we were surprised to see the cars, trucks, and motorcycles that came out tonight. But it was beautiful at the beach with mostly bright blue skies. We think those who braved the weather inland and came down tonight were pleasantly surprised too. Quite a few families came out to enjoy the cruise, the rides, and the ice cream too so it was a good night for all of us!
Cruise Night at Village Pizza - 7/11/23
Finally, a cruise night with no chance of rain! And it was a good one tonight with our friends from Dream Machine Classics at Village Pizza in Preston. A big thanks to Lucien who took the photos for us tonight. If he’s looking for a new (or we should say ‘another’) position in our Mustang club, he’s definitely got what it takes! Enjoy the great photos and let’s hope this good weather continues.
Bozrah Moose Lodge Cruise Night - 7/12/23
After being rained out for the entire month of June it was great to be back at the Bozrah Moose Lodge Cruise Night tonight. And from the looks of the field, lots of others felt the same way. Yes, it was rather warm tonight but that’s why they have an outside bar. Good food and chili as always and great to finally see everyone back at the Moose!

98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 7/17/23
It was perfect weather for a change at the 98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night tonight. We were overwhelmed with beautiful cars, trucks, and motorcycles and loads of folks came out to see them. With so much activity, we were a little behind taking photos tonight so not everyone’s ride was captured. Nevertheless, we’re sure everyone had a good time. After the awards, the Waterford Community Band took the stage and kept the good times rolling!
Montville Farmer's Market Cruise Night - 7/18/23
Like many events this summer, it was a great night tonight at the Montville Farmer’s Market Cruise Night until it wasn’t. The rain came about an hour into the cruise and it really poured. At least we had the large pavilion to stay out of the rain. The rain ended a half hour later, the sun came out, and the night went on. We had a good time despite the rain and we think everyone else did too!
Central Auto Group's 3rd Annual Car Show - 7/22/23
It was a good time today at Central Auto Group’s 3rd Annual Car Show in Plainfield. Perfect weather for a change brought out lots of beautiful cars and trucks, including a couple of unusual ones (can you say Crosley or Lafayette?). We have to thank Lucien for the great photos, our usual photographer heard the food truck canceled and his stomach told him not to go!
Sprague Rod & Gun Club Cruise - 7/23/23
We had a great time today at the Sprague Rod & Gun Club Cruise. Perfect weather brought out the most cars, trucks, and motorcycles we’ve seen here in a long time including a rare and beautiful Plymouth Superbird. Lots of folks came to see the cruise vehicles and enjoy the great food and drink as well. We have to thank all the volunteers who kept things organized, cooked incredible food, and staffed the raffle table. It all made for a most enjoyable day!
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 7/24/23
Wow, two Mondays in a row with good weather! And, like last week, the lot was packed with beautiful cars, trucks, and motorcycles. We also had a good crowd of folks who came to enjoy the beach and all it has to offer including the cruise night. It might have been hot inland today but remember, it’s always cooler at the beach! So be cool, come on down! Weather permitting, we’ll be here starting at 5 PM every Monday through September 11th
Bozrah Moose Lodge Cruise Night - 7/26/23
Two in a row! It was another great night at the Bozrah Moose Lodge Cruise night tonight. It was hot but the humidity wasn’t bad until later. Paul & Pom played live music all evening, the drinks were cold and the burgers, hot dogs and chili were all perfect. Could not ask for a nicer night out!
Bozrah Farmer's Market Cruise Night - 7/28/23
Yes, it was hot. If you sat in the shade it wasn’t too bad but if you were out in the sun for a while, wow! But that didn’t matter to the many folks who came to the Bozrah Farmer’s Market Cruise Night tonight, the first cruise of the season. Lots of cars, lots of vendors, and lots of people made it a great way to start the weekend!
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 7/31/23
What a night! With over 150 cars, trucks, and motorcycles and with hundreds of folks to see and enjoy them, tonight was the biggest 98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night we’ve had in years. We only have 6 more cruise nights here this summer, let’s hope they are all as big as tonight’s!

Hank's Dairy Bar Car Cruise On The Lawn - 8/1/23
Perfect weather brought a good turnout to Hank’s Dairy Bar Car Cruise On The Lawn tonight in Plainfield. There were lots of cars and trucks tonight and lots more folks enjoying them as well as Hank’s great food. This is the first time we’ve had really nice weather here this summer. Let’s hope it keeps up for next month’s cruise! Oh, and we want to give a big thanks to Lucien for the great photos!
St. Catherine Church Cruise Night - 8/2/23
More perfect weather brought a lot of cars, trucks, and folks to the St. Catherine Church Cruise Night tonight in Preston. With live music, door prizes, and great food specials (we love the homemade desserts!) we think everyone had a great time. They’re doing this cruise again next month (September 6th) so mark your calendars for a great night out!
Bozrah Moose Lodge Cruise Night - 8/9/23
Thanks to the storms on Monday and Tuesday, we had two great cruise nights to choose from tonight. So we tossed a coin and went to the Bozrah Moose Lodge. We had a good time as always but we sure wish this crazy weather would go away!
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 8/14/23
It was another huge night at the 98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night tonight. Once again, the lot filled up quickly and hundreds of families and folks came down to enjoy the nice weather, cool breezes, and our beautiful cars, trucks and motorcycles. Only four more cruise nights left after tonight, let’s hope they are all this good!
Montville Farmer's Market Cruise Night - 8/15/23
The weather has not been a cruiser’s friend this summer, that’s for sure. But tonight wasn’t bad for the 15 or 20 cars and trucks that came to the Montville Farmer’s Market Cruise Night. It was cloudy, yes, but with no rain or drizzle and the field was even dry in most places. There were a lot of unique vendors and plenty of great food. We had a nice relaxing evening but we were wishing more folks came out to join us tonight.
Bozrah Farmer's Market Cruise Night - 8/18/23
The rain and gray skies are gone and it was beautiful at the second Bozrah Farmer’s Market Cruise Night tonight. Along with all the cars and all the people, we noticed much more produce for sale (corn, tomatoes, veggies, etc.) now that the season is well under way. We ‘harvested’ a few goodies to bring home and we had a great time too. Can’t wait for next month’s cruise night here!
Cruise for a Cause Community Fundraiser - 8/19/23
Perfect weather brought over 100 cars and trucks to the Cruise for a Cause Community Fundraiser in Salem today. As always, there was a great mix of old and new and some different ones too. Great food, good friends, and a beautiful venue made for a really enjoyable day. Now to get ready for our own SCMC Cruise Night at the Center of Montville. Hope to see everyone there!

After the Cruise for a Cause in Salem today, it was a beautiful evening for our own SCMC Cruise Night. The lot was pretty full, we had some great raffle prizes, and a good time was had by all. We want to thank everyone who came out and joined us tonight, we couldn’t do this without you!

The pop-up showers held off and it was really busy at the 98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night tonight. As the season winds down here it seems to bring more folks out each week. Now we’re hoping for fair weather for the last three cruise nights here!

You couldn’t ask for better weather than tonight’s and it made for a great time at the Bozrah Moose Lodge.
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 8/28/23
It was mostly cloudy and cool at Ocean Beach tonight but that didn’t deter folks from coming out at all. It was a full house in the front lot and we had a good number in the back lot too. We’ll be here again on Labor Day and the last cruise here will be September 11th. So come on down and help us close out the season!

Ledyard Rotary Classic Car Cruise - 9/02/23
Spectacular weather brought over 200 cars and trucks to the 8th Annual Ledyard Rotary Classic Car Cruise today. Parking started in the upper lot (unused since Covid) and continued on the grass behind the pole barn. It was a nice layout this year with vendors in the pole barn and the raffles, registration and food in the Holdridge Pavillion. In short, there was something for everyone here today. We want to give a big thanks to all the Rotary volunteers who kept everything running smoothly. It was a great day to cruise and if you missed it, you missed a good one!
Essex Automobile Club's 15th Annual Car Show - 9/4/23
Beautiful weather filled the fields fast at the 15th Annual Essex Automobile Club’s Car Show today, even though it was their rain date. As always there was a real variety of cars and trucks, everything from full classics to modern muscle and imports. It’s sad to think this is the last show there for the immediate future; it’s been a favorite of many for years now. But today was a perfect way to wrap things up and we’re sure glad we were part of it!
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 9/4/23
After the Essex Car Show we headed down to the 98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night and what a night it was! Despite the holiday crowds, the beach had prepared for the cruise this time by reserving space for all our cars, trucks, and motorcycles. This worked out perfectly and everyone had a great time. And we had a special presentation tonight as well, a beautiful painted horse for the merry-go-round in honor of Speedbowl Kurt. A special thanks to Jeff Mullen and his crew for the horse and to Jim Reed for the presentation. It really made tonight extra special!
Hank's Dairy Bar Car Cruise On The Lawn - 9/5/23
It was hot and humid but there was a good turnout at Hank’s Dairy Bar’s Car Cruise On The Lawn tonight. Lots of cars and trucks we’ve never seen before made it that much more interesting. A good night all around, especially if you had ice cream! And a big thanks to Lucien for the great photos.
St. Catherine Church Cruise Night - 9/6/23
Although it was rather warm, we had a good time at the St. Catherine Church Cruise Night tonight. About 35 cars and trucks joined us on the field including some we had never seen before. We had great food, live music and a nice relaxing night with friends!
6th Annual Charles Toyota Timeless Car Show - 9/10/23
What can we say? It was a great morning at the 6th Annual Charles Toyota Timeless Car Show today until the rain came. And, even then, it wasn’t bad for a while after that. We even saw a glimpse of the sun. But Mother Nature had other nefarious plans. Still, about 60 cars and trucks came out today and we enjoyed great live music by Stone County, good food, and great raffles for a while. It’s too bad because the folks at Charles Toyota put a lot of effort into this event and we want to thank them for all they did for us despite the weather. Let’s hope they do it again next year on a dry, sunny day!
Cruise Night at Village Pizza - 9/12/23
After being rained out twice last month, (yes, even the rain date was rained out) the weather was perfect tonight for the last cruise night of the season at Village Pizza. Lots of folks came out to take advantage of the blue skies, the great food and drink, and the camaraderie. All in all, a great way to end the season here!
Southeastern Connecticut Mustang Club Cruise Night - 9/16/23
Who would believe it took a hurricane to give us tonight’s picture-perfect weather? Well, 50+ car and truck owners believed it and came to our last SCMC Cruise Night of the season tonight. Thanks to many donations we had some great raffle prizes tonight and the 50/50 reached $280.00. The winner of the 50/50 donated his winnings back to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for which we are very grateful. We want to thank everyone who came out tonight; we couldn’t do this without all of you and your support!
Larry's Family Fun Car Cruise - 9/17/23
There were a lot of car shows today and it was perfect weather for all of them. But Larry’s has been a tradition for the past 10 years so that’s where we went. As always, it was packed with cars and trucks in every available lot with a live band, good food and an inflatable climbing ‘mountain’ for the kids. And, as always, the burnouts as folks left were a treat for our ears! A big thanks to everyone who made this another great year at Larry’s!
Bozrah Farmer's Market Cruise Night - 9/22/23
Tonight it might actually be “Film at 11:00” as the power was out when we got home from the Bozrah Farmer’s Market Cruise Night. But it was a great night there with almost 100 beautiful cars and trucks, nice weather, and lots of good food. Glad to get this one in before the rainy weekend starts!
Town of Groton Police MADD Car Show - 9/30/23
Weather-wise this has not been a good summer for car shows and cruises. Despite the rain, the Groton Police MADD Car Show was on today so that’s where we went. As always, they did a great job with lots of raffle prizes and good food. And we have to admit we love the patches! But it’s too bad it wasn’t a sunny day as a lot of effort goes into this show. We still had a good time and it was all for a worthy cause.

Sprague Rod & Gun Club Cruise - 10/1/23
This is one of our favorite cruises because we always see different cars and trucks, the food is great, and the raffles are so well done. Because this was a rain date we weren’t sure what today would bring but we shouldn’t have been worried. About 75 cars, trucks and motorcycles came out to enjoy the nicest weather we’ve had in more than a week. And lots of folks stopped by to look at our rides too. A big thanks to all the volunteers from the club who put so much effort into making these cruises among the best in the area!
98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night - 10/2/23
The last 98.7 WNLC Ocean Beach Cruise Night of the season was originally scheduled for September 11th. But it rained. The beach was adamant about holding the final cruise night so they could thank everyone for their participation all summer. So it was rescheduled for September 18th. But it rained again. Then it was rescheduled for September 25th. And, wouldn’t you know it, more rain. Finally, tonight we had the nice weather everyone was looking for. It was a great night with lots of beautiful rides and lots of folks just happy to finally enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures. A big thanks to Dave and all the crew at Ocean Beach for holding these weekly cruise nights all summer and for closing out the season on such a high note. We’re already looking forward to next year!
Herb's 10th Annual Fall Bash Car Show - 10/8/23
It was beautiful weather and the largest turnout ever for the 10th Annual Fall Bash Car Show at Herb’s Country Store in Uncasville today. Almost 300 cars and trucks came out for an afternoon of BBQ, food vendors, raffle prizes, 50/50 raffles and more with all proceeds going to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. As one of the last events of the year, this is always one of our favorites. We want to give a big thanks to Jeff, his staff and all the volunteers who made today the perfect way to wrap up the cruising season!
Killustrate It/Yantic Fire Department Car Show - 10/14/23
The rain held off for the start of today’s classic car show put on by Killustrate It and the Yantic Fire Department on the banks of the Yantic River. The sun even peeked through for a short time as the field filled up with cars and trucks. We had a wonderful time with good food, background music, and some interesting vendors and displays. But as always this year, the rain was coming so the show wrapped up a bit early. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed this show and we hope this becomes a regular event in the future!
Cruise Night at Village Pizza - 10/17/23
As it turned out, Village Pizza had one more cruise night up their sleeve which was not on the original schedule. No matter, it was a nice evening, quite a few cars and trucks came out and we all had a great time. Best of all, we had a special visitor tonight in his GTO!
