An incredible turnout at our AutoZone Spring Opener today. Many members and friends came out to join us and to enjoy the nice weather which has been in short supply lately. We met some new folks too. A big thanks to everyone who participated as well as those who just stopped by to say ‘Hi’. All in all, a great way to start the season!
Sorry we didn’t post up ahead of time about this cruise but it was a ‘first-of’ and we didn’t know what to expect. Well, it was really great with beautiful weather and a solid turnout of cars and trucks. There were free refreshments and everyone enjoyed the camaraderie after the long winter. A big thanks to Myleah and the staff at Lowe’s as well as our friend Steve from Balfour-Beatty for all their efforts in putting on this event. We’re hoping it will become a regular on our calendar this summer!

Another great cruise in at NAPA of Norwich today. Lots of beautiful cars and trucks on display while everyone enjoyed the goody bags, music, raffles and delicious food by the Bouchard Girls. A big thanks to the folks at NAPA for all the work they do in putting on these events. They're planning another one in September so if you missed it today you'll have another chance.
Just an awesome turnout at the Dream Machine Classic's Home Depot Cruise tonight. With perfect weather it looked like many got their cars out for the first time. How do we know? The faint smell of mothballs was in the air!
A great time tonight at the Big Dawggs Cruise Night in the DiRoma Garden Center in Griswold. A good turnout considering the weather and those that came out enjoyed incredible food, music and camaraderie. We've included some shots of the garden center at the end so everyone can see what a beautiful place this is. We'll do this again next month so we hope to see more members and friends here on June 21st!
We had a wonderful time a Ra Ra's Cruise Night in Moosup tonight. Several SCMC members and friends came out to enjoy the great food, delicious ice cream and lots of family entertainment. This truly is a fun family event and well worth the drive from anywhere. The folks at Ra Ra's do a great job here so don't miss the next one!
June 2018
We all had a great time at the re-scheduled cruise night at Hank's Dairy Bar tonight. The great location, wonderful food and live music made for an enjoyable evening. We're looking forward to next month's cruise night here on July 3rd!
A spectacular night with over 60 beautiful cars and trucks in attendance! Our 50/50 reached new heights at $320 and the food from 'K's Kart Too' was great. A big thanks to everyone who came out to support us and the Connecticut Children's Medical Center tonight!
A Father's Day to remember! A great turnout at the Father's Day Car Show at the Central Baptist Church of Westerly RI. A big thanks to SCMC member Dr. Reverend Cal Lord who put this all together for us. Free lunch for the participants, music by WBLQ and perfect weather (with a cool sea breeze) made it a wonderful way to spend part of our day!
It was a great turnout at Bumper-to-Bumper tonight. The folks from WIX were there with their race-prepped Ford Focus, give-away die-casts for everyone and cool raffle prizes. Yes, it was hot there, yes some folks left early, but the cars and trucks kept coming and going all evening. As always there was food and cold drinks for everyone and we all had a wonderful time despite the heat. Now we can't wait for next month!
July 2018
We all had a wonderful time at the Ledyard Rotary Classic Car Cruise today. With decent weather, music by Larry, a cool breeze, many vendors, tea-cup raffles, a huge 50/50 and lots of great cars and trucks there was something here for everyone. A big shout-out to the Rotary Club and all the volunteers who worked hard to make this a great event!
Wow, what a great turnout at the Bozrah Farmer's Market Cruise Night tonight. The show field was so full some had to park elsewhere, at least for a while. Great tunes by Gary Pom and of course, the best from local farms and crafters. And our favorite - gourmet grilled cheese with homemade donuts for dessert. It was a wonderful way to start the weekend!
Tonight was another great SCMC cruise night before the weather goes downhill and the rains come. We had a good 50/50 but it was the donations to our charity, the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, that amazed us. We really do have some of the best folks attending our cruise nights. We want to thank everyone who came out tonight and especially those who donated so generously. We couldn't do what we do without all of you!
We didn't like having to choose but some members were going to Voluntown so our intrepid photographer went to the Texas Roadhouse Roundup instead. A very nice turnout considering the competition. As always, a great time there with a lot of friends of the club. And our friends Steve and David came home with some beautiful hardware as well!
August 2018
One word to describe tonight - HOT. But despite the heat many folks came out to enjoy the evening with family and friends. This cruise night is always a great time. A big thanks to John and all the folks at Bumper to Bumper for putting this cruise night on for all of us to enjoy!
We thought it would be really hot at Hank's tonight but we were wrong - it was hotter at the beach last night. Tonight it clouded up and there was a nice breeze to keep us cool. We all enjoyed the food, live music by Smart Play and the camaraderie. Lots of spectators enjoyed checking out our cars too. All In all a good night.
It was nice out when we arrived but it didn't last long - the rain came down, then blue skies, then more rain. Rinse and repeat. But it didn't deter from this wonderful event in the least. Lots of vendors, a great BBQ, drinks, ice cream, music, raffles, T-shirts and even a visit from Lightning McQueen to top things off. Needless to say we had a great time. A big shout-out to the volunteers from all over and the folks from Texas Roadhouse for all their hard work that made it worth getting wet today!
Perfect weather meant we packed the grounds of the DiRoma Garden Center at the Big Dawggs Cruise Night tonight! Always a great time in an idyllic setting with lots of members and friends. We all enjoyed the abundant food, ice cream, live music and camaraderie. A big shout-out to Rick Landry and all the folks at Big Dawggs for their hospitality!
Our rain date from last weekend's washout turned out to be a great one tonight. Many members and friends came out to join us and the food from K's Kart was great as always. Our 50/50 winner donated his winnings back to the club for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center and another friend made a $100 donation to the CCMC. We do have the best members, friends and followers of any club around and a big thanks to everyone who came out to support us tonight. We couldn't do any of this without you!
We sure had a great time at the first annual Groton Town Police MADD Car Show today. It was a gorgeous day and the park-like grounds with shade trees made it especially nice. We really liked the 'Evidence' window placards, great pizza by the Bridge Market, ice cream by Robin and all the beautiful cars and trucks that came out for the show. We're already looking forward to next year's show here!
We think the heat took a toll on the number of cars but the die-hards came out to the annual St. Augustine Church Cruise Night in 94 degree temperatures and 80% humidity. Thankful for the shade and a breeze we still had a great time as always. A big thanks to the Knights of Columbus and their volunteers for keeping this annual cruise night tradition going. And thanks to everyone who supported the Canterbury Cares Food Bank with their donations
September 2018
With great fall-like weather there was an excellent turnout at the NAPA of Norwich Cruise-In today. SCMC provided the music, there were great raffle prizes and Connecticut Children's Medical Center received over $80 in donations in our donation jar. We want to thank Todd and all the gang at NAPA of Norwich for all they do for our hobby and also all those folks who donated to the CCMC. What a wonderful way to begin September!
It was the last cruise night here for the season and it was a great one. A big thanks to Scott and his crew at Hank's for hosting us each month this summer. We're already looking forward to next year!
A cloudy but cool day brought out many beautiful cars and trucks to the 3rd Annual Timeless Car Show at Charles Toyota in Norwich today. We had live music by Vanishing Breed, maple bacon pizza by Bridge Market, more food choices from Mr. Hot Dog and multiple live broadcasts by local radio stations. Great raffles and lots of spectators too made this the best show here to date. A big thanks to the Antonino Auto Group and all the crew at Charles Toyota for making this a most enjoyable day. Harold Winslow would be proud!
The second half of our 'double header' today was our own SCMC Cruise Night. Another good showing of cars and trucks, many who came from the previous show today. A big shout-out to everyone who came out tonight to support us and the Connecticut Children's Medical Center, helping us raise $240 for the kids. Sad to think this is our last club cruise night of the season but we went out with a bang thanks to all of you!
Another 'double-header' day, it started out at the Balfour-Beatty (NSB New London Homes) Car Show. As always there was a good turnout of beautiful cars and trucks. We all enjoyed the nice weather, live music, many vendors and great food, all in support of the Groton Animal Foundation. A big thanks to all the volunteers from Balfour-Beatty for their hard work in making this show a great annual event!
What a great day today at the 6th Annual Larry's Family Fun Car Cruise at Larry's Auto Machine in Groton. The cars, trucks and motorcycles just kept coming and coming all afternoon. With loads of hot rods, muscle cars, classics, imports, and dragsters there was something for everyone. Lots of great vendors, live music and a bounce house for the kids made this a real family event. This is one of our favorites every September and we are already looking forward to next year!
We didn't advertise this event because it was a 'first-time' and we weren't sure what to expect. We were wrong! Luckily the folks from Dream Machine Classics let their members and friends know about it and it turned out to be a great night. Free burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, drinks and Pop's ice cream made it even better. Live music by Red Light (they were really good!) and lots of spectators just added to the enjoyment. A big thanks to Ellis Disch, Thrifty Car Sales and all the wonderful people who helped make this the perfect way to end the week. We hope they decide to do this again next year and we will surely let everyone know if they do.
Another great time at the Texas Roadhouse Round Up this evening. Lots of car, trucks, friends and camaraderie. Good food too! A big thanks to Ali, Sally and the folks at Texas Roadhouse for all they do for us. And if you missed this one there's one more here on October 14th so mark your calendars.
We're really glad we decided to go to this one, lots of different cars and a beautiful location out in the country. They had the best burgers and hot dogs for a ridiculously low price as well as a full cash bar. Nice shade trees to sit under and chat with friends. A big thanks to the members and volunteers from the Sprague Rod & Gun Club for hosting this event. We will look forward to any future cruises here for sure!
About 175 cars and trucks came out to the Brooklyn Car Cruise at Walmart today to benefit the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp and other local charities. It was perfect weather for the cruise and with multiple vendors, great music, raffles and a huge 50/50, we'd say it was very successful. A big thanks to the Brooklyn Walmart, the Tri-State Cruisers and all the volunteers who made this a cruise to remember.
September 2018
Despite the gloomy weather this morning we had a great turnout at our 8th Annual 'Karz on the Flats' car show. With over 100 cars and trucks of all years and types there was something here for everyone. Of course we hold this show to raise money for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC) and we raised over $1100.00 today towards our annual donation. We want to thank everyone who came out and joined us today as well those who made donations to the CCMC. Also a big shout-out to DJ Marty, the folks from the Music Lady Cafe and the many volunteers who helped throughout the day. And a special thanks to Leon Lefevre and Stanton Equipment for providing us with the location as well as the means to hold this event each year. We would not be this successful without the help and support of each and every one of you!
What an unbelievable turnout for the 5th Annual Herb's Fall Bash Car Show today! We had a great time, lots of incredible food, big raffle prizes and all to benefit Fisher House of Connecticut. A big shout-out to Jeff and all the volunteers who made this a day to remember!
Can you spell 'Cold'? Can you spell 'Windy'? It was both today at Ted's IGA in Hebron. But that didn't deter many cruisers as the lot quickly filled up for the Cruzn' for the Boobies Halloween Bash. As always, great decorations on many of the cars as well as great costumes on some participants. We're sad to see it over as this is one of the last events but it was a great way to close out the season. A big thanks to the Gear Head Mafia and their volunteers who put this event on for us every year.
